Bourbon & Rye at 18 Reasons

I’m happy to say the event is sold out!  Third sell out in a row…

I’ll be leading a Bourbon & Rye tasting/class at 18 Reasons on Tuesday, March 22. We’ll take an introductory look at these two distinctly American spirits, talk a bit about their history and taste 3 examples of each including Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon, Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon, W.L. Weller 12 year old Bourbon, Rittenhouse 100 Rye, the new Bulleit (95) Rye, and local heroes Anchor Distilling’s 18th Century Style 100% Rye Whiskey.

Yes, I know both Bourbon and Rye are all the rage amongst the artisanal cocktail set, as well they should be. We won’t be talking cocktails here (at least not much), I do not have a handlebar mustache and I will not be wearing suspenders or arm garters. We’ll just be pouring and talking about the straight stuff and will leave the jiggers and garnishes to the artists who do that kind of thing well.

Tuesday, March 22, 7:00pm – 9:00pm
18 Reasons

  1. Hmmm. Next Tuesday is the 15th not the 22nd. A bit anxious to get into the Bourbon and Rye, are we? …or are the heavenly odors coming from the back end of “Little Quarter Cask” beginning to take their toll on the “little gray cells?”

    1. Ah…thanks for the proofreading. As for those heavenly odors, you can smell for yourself in a few days!
