Upcoming Bay Area Whisky Events, May 2010

Sheeeesh…I really would have preferred this list to be long and full.  I wish it had taken me hours to compile, struggling through the many event details, losing valuable sleep while adding links, hands cramped in agony from typing, etc. Instead, two events…that’s all I could find…

…sigh…

Celebrate the Macallan

Frankly, I have no idea what this is all about.  My shrewd deductive capacities tell me that Macallan is involved somehow, probably a light tasting/pep rally for Macallan as well as a fund-raiser. Follow this link to sign up online, admission is a $5 donation to The Ryder Foundation, a Marin-based charity which funds research and treatment of Autism.

  1. Additional info on K and L tasting:

    1) Tasting at Martin’s West – May 18th $30 – Looks like it’s going to be $20 less than we thought.  The line up isn’t 100% finalized yet, but mostly done.
    -Octomore 5 year 2.1
    -Lagavulin 12 cask strength
    -Bunnahabhain 18
    -Bowmore 17 cask strength
-Ardbeg 1990 (may substitute Supernova if I can get one)
    -Bruichladdich Resurrection
-plus one or two more mystery malts that will be served blind

-NO FOOD! So feel free to order some if you get hungry, just don’t expect a big plate of bread or cheese gratis.
    -Reservations can be made
later this week by calling Martin’s West
    (650) 366-4366

BTW I am also having a tasting on May 20. Be great if you could make it out.
