After that ‘meet-up’ and being locked in a darkened dungeon with my fellow knights whilst we draw swords for the penance of taking a certain distillery dog called Shortie for a walk, it’s good to be finally back at Emporium castle with a desk-load of samplee to calm my soul as I raise the drawbridge and recover from my web-lag.

But seriously, well done everyone for some great responses and thoughts on the dreaded ‘Marketing’ side of the industry. The Round Table just gets better and better!

False alarm. The Glenlivet box is just fine. I’m glad I got up to check, though, because the recessed art lighting on my Highland Park Earl Magnus packaging was slightly off-center.

Anyway, what was I saying? Oh yeah…with me, it’s 100% about the spirit inside the bottle. As it should be.

Great meetup. Ardbeg indeed are doing something good.
but, i hope they dont cross the thin line of hype and quality.
collectors are an important bunch, but us drinkers also need good whisky
